About Sandra
Sandra Saldaña has served Greenfield Union School District as Trustee for Area E since 2023. A lifelong Kern County Resident with a history of community service through the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Sandra was appointed to the Board of Trustees in June 2023 and sworn into office on July 3, 2023. She stepped into the role following the death of her husband, longtime Greenfield trustee Richard Saldaña, continuing a family commitment to public service and the Greenfield Community.
Since joining the board, Sandra has continued to develop her knowledge of public-school governance. In 2024, she completed the California School Boards Association's Masters in Governance program, a professional development program for school board members and education leaders.
During Sandra's service, Greenfield Union has expanded early-education opportunities, opened the new Nest Gymnasium at Greenfield Middle School, continued work on school facilities and safety improvements, and expanded student mental health support. The district currently provides dedicated social workers at every school site, with additional staffing at the middle school level.

As a lifelong Kern County resident and an organizer for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, I have dedicated my life to serving others. My commitment to public service was strengthened when I was entrusted with continuing the work of my late husband, Greenfield Trustee Richard Saldana, whose passion for improving educational opportunities inspired so many in our community.
Serving on the school board has been both a privilege and a responsibility. Together, we have made meaningful progress by expanding educational opportunities, supporting student wellness, improving school safety, and investing in facilities that our children deserve.
I remain committed to completing the work we started by improving student achievement, ensuring all three middle schools have modern gymnasiums, and expanding access to free preschool programs so every child has the opportunity to begin school ready to succeed.
I believe every child deserves a safe, supportive learning environment and every family deserves a voice in our schools. By working together with parents, educators, and our community, we can continue building a brighter future for every student.
